P90X “Comeback Kids” Challenge Group With Jon Congdon

As some of you know, I’ve been battling major health issues the past year or so. It started on October 5, 2011, when I had surgery on my knee. All things considered, I thought it would be a relatively easy operation and allow me to get back on the volleyball court and working out to my full potential in a matter of weeks. During the healing process I ran into unexpected complications, including a nasty infection that required 6 surgeries to eradicate. I spent 22 days in the trauma unit, lost 40 pounds, and spent weeks on an IV drip at home. I was down and out.

In July, I was able to finally return to work. Since that time, I’ve been kicking around the idea of restoring my health by leading a P90X Challenge Group. Well, the time has finally arrived. On Monday, November 12th, 2012, I’m starting another 90 days of P90X — and I want you to join me.

I don’t expect this to be the same as when I was part of the first ever Challenge Group to do P90X nine years ago. But, that’s the beauty of the program, it can be adapted to meet your needs. Anyone who’s suffered from an injury, taken some time off for personal reasons, or needs a general ‘kick in the ass’, this group is for you. They’ll call us the “Comeback Kids” and we’ll prove the doubters wrong, including ourselves. I’m excited, but scared as hell.

I’m doing this because I want to feel like myself again. I want to feel like I did the first time I finished P90X, and I want to feel incredible when my 50th birthday comes this February (shortly after Day 90).

I have to be honest, this isn’t where I thought I’d be at this point in my life. That’s another reason I’m turning to P90X. It worked for me before, and it’s worked for millions all over the world. But, I don’t want to do it alone. In fact, I hate working out alone. I need the encouragement of a workout buddy and a support system to keep me accountable. So if you’re like me, grab a buddy and let’s get this thing rolling. Whatever your reason, let’s do this thing together.

Let’s focus on getting one other person to DECIDE to join us, COMMIT to buying a P90X Challenge Pack, and we’ll SUCCEED in making this comeback one for the ages.

    Thank you for sharing your story with us, I could not imagine the mental and physical pain you are going and have gone through.

    Been there twice – once with a trimalleolar fracture and a second time with a complex fracture of the right arm. Was told in the ER that I should be happy if I walk with a limp (first fracture) and happy if I can get dressed and put food in my mouth (second fracture).
    Nope. Not good enough. I still ski race, teach karate, and do P90X and X2.
    I’m convinced the formula is great doctors + great attitude + rehab, rehab, rehab.
    Those of us who’ve been there know what you are going through. Go get ‘em, Jon!
