As we move into “Labor Day”, I want to salute the coaches who labor all year round to motivate and inspire people to take care of the most important resource we have: ALL OF US.
Make no mistake – THIS WORK IS WORK. We have not taken the easy route. We don’t call it “passive income”. That is a promise of network marketing that I do not believe in. I believe in a mission. That’s what I want to reward people with millions – no, BILLIONS of dollars to do. And I know it’s hard. And hard is OKAY.
Hard work = hard. Making careful food choices = hard. Drinking Shakeology vs. cheaper shakes (aka “choosing healthy weight loss over JUST weight loss) = hard. Being the one person of a group who promotes a healthier lifestyle = hard.
But our coaches do this, every day.
You are the first responders in the 9-1-1 emergency of these lifestyle diseases. Obesity. heart disease. Type 2 diabetes. So much suffering. And so avoidable.
We’re not saying “Don’t have fun.” We’re not saying “Don’t enjoy life.” We’re saying, “We need to respect life enough, and the model we are living for our children, to balance our choices, and feed this body in a way that we get MORE from this gift!”
It’s my opinion that most people are living life at a level 5 (on a scale of one to 10). They enjoy technology, entertainment, friends, drinking, eating, and feeling good. It’s right in the middle. But what happens when they take it to a six? What happens if they take it to an 8? How do they get more out of life, for more years? That takes work. That takes “Labor”. And I believe, that is where a LIFELONG sense of accomplishment, joy, and deep satisfaction resides.
So here’s to you, Coaches! You inspire me every day. Yeah, I am not perfect. (I love pizza so so much!) But you inspire me that while pizza is ok from time to time, it has to be from time to time to get the most out of life. That’s what I get from you. And for that I am grateful. I am not just the CEO, I am your best customer.
And guess what? Motivation, and focus… That’s what’s coming. September, October, and November are going to be a big push. We’re not fooling around at all – not during back to school, not during fall holidays, not going into the party season… And it starts with “Shaketember”, drinking a shake a day to feed your body what it needs to get you from “living a 5″ to “living a 6″.
Let’s share this. It’s so possible for so many. Let’s do it. For real. Let’s make labor day about doubling down on our passion to help people out of this issue of obesity and lifestyle disease.
This is not just work, this is good labor, because it shows we care about the people around us, and the labor starts now.
