Chocolate Vegan Shakeology Is Here

It wasn’t easy – just ask the Chocolate Vegan Superfood Formula – but it’s here: The newest addition to the Shakeology® family: Chocolate Vegan.

Chocolate Vegan Shakeology® is also Team Beachbody’s latest addition to the Beachbody Ultimate™ brand. It’s the perfect complement to Tropical Shakeology® and as evidenced by the overwhelmingly positive reaction by those who sampled some at Coach Summit, it’s going to be big.

Products we release that contain the Beachbody Ultimate™ logo (Tropical Vegan Shakeology®, Chocolate Vegan Shakeology®, and Ultimate™ Reset) are on a different level. This in no way means our other products are lacking in quality ingredients or nutrition, but to get the Beachbody Ultimate™ stamp, these products have to possess ingredients that are the Ultimate in purity and assimilability, will help keep you free of toxins, nurture the body’s natural ability to heal itself and enhance the organic processes your body already goes through.

Woah, what does this mean? Well, many of the questions are answered by Darin Olien in the video below, but we are going to dive into some here, as well:

Plant based. As you know, the new formula is 100% plant-based and the health benefits of a plant-based lifestyle are well documented — from lower cholesterol and lower risk for heart disease, cancer, and diabetes – to easier weight management and fewer digestive issues.

Your new best friend. The new Chocolate Vegan is also a great complement to the Ultimate™ Reset and another incredibly SIMPLE way to get phenomenal nutrition into your body, especially during the Reset. The Ultimate™ Reset is what I like to call “The Vegan Maker”. This product has more self-proclaimed “meat and potatoes guys” (myself included), eating Vegan more than 50% of the time. Team Beachbody Coach Mike French and his wife Tami did the Ultimate™ Reset, are now 100% vegan, and say the Reset literally changed their lives – forever. It just got even better with Chocolate Vegan.

No animals allowed. Give your system a break from heavy animal proteins by replacing one meal a day with Chocolate Vegan Shakeology®. There are also theories that eating meat which arrived on your plate through the brutal process of factory farming can contribute to added stress. Plant-based foods can help calm the body from the inside out.

Superfoods! Chocolate Vegan includes 5 new superfoods: moringa, coconut flower nectar, luo han guo, Himalayan salt, and konjac root. All key nutrients come from natural whole foods. There are no added vitamin or mineral isolates and no fortification. Moringa is called the “Tree of Life,” because it is one of nature’s most nutritious foods. It contains 90 nutrients and 46 antioxidants along with ALL of the essential amino acids. Plus, according to some studies, moringa can help boost energy, lead to faster recovery, and balance out blood sugar levels.

All natural chocolate. The way nature intended. Ever wonder what cacao tastes like right out of the pod from the cacao tree? It’s rich, earthy chocolate taste is derived solely from whole-food ingredients with no additional flavoring agents.

Freedom. Chocolate Vegan is lactose and dairy free. If you’re lactose intolerant or have trouble digesting whey protein, then this is the shake for you. Most people have trouble digesting dairy, whey protein, or animal proteins and don’t even know it—until they try a plant-based protein meal and can immediately feel a difference.

Sugar is the devil and Fructose is a thing of the past. Chocolate Vegan is made with coconut flower nectar and luo han duo — two whole-food superfoods that are so naturally sweet, there’s no need to add fructose.

This is a BIG ONE – protein. One of the most common questions vegans get is, “How do you get your protein?” Well, plants have protein and so does Vegan Shakeology – 16 grams per serving. Chocolate Vegan and Tropical Strawberry are crafted from an easy-to-assimilate blend of whole, plant-based proteins including sprouted brown rice, pea, sacha inchi, chia, flax, quinoa, amaranth, and spirulina. Not only do they offer 9 essential amino acids, but together they are a complete protein source with sufficiently high levels of lysine and methionine, two important amino acids that are often a limiting factor in plant-based diets. To put it simply – you don’t need 30 grams of protein with all the other nasty stuff, when you have 16 grams packed with the best stuff.

Some people look at what we are doing with the Beachbody Ultimate™ line and think, “man, that’s extreme.” But, this is a good thing. We have an EXTREME problem on our hands. Nearly every revolutionary change in the history of the world was at one point perceived as extreme. Through persistence and believing in what is right, changes were made.

One day, hopefully soon, this type of nutrition will be part of the normal American lifestyle. But in the mean time, it’s going to take a lot of work. It’s going to take Team Beachbody Coaches believing in the benefits of Vegan Shakeology™ and the Ultimate™ Reset and sharing them with the skeptics. This isn’t about brainwashing anyone or creating a cult following, it’s about helping people who would otherwise be left feeling tired, overweight, and hopeless… and having a blast doing it.

Are you with me?

Shakeology® formulator, Darin Olien, talks about the science behind the new Chocolate Vegan formula.

This is me interviewing the new formula for a shot to join the Shakeology® family. As you now know, he did well. But it wasn’t easy…

  4. The blog is fantastic Carl! Thanks for sharing the specific details on Ultimate Vegan Chocolate Shakeology. The information is extremely helpful. I can’t wait to try it.

But how does it taste! I think this fits me well since I discovered I have food allergies! I am finding with what I can actually eat taste gets lost from food. Anyway to buy a sample pack before I spend the money?

  6. Manaka Niita says:

Are the nutrition facts of CHOCOLATE VEGAN SHAKEOLOGY can suffice the daily needs of an individual? Can this be mixed with other healthy food like whey protein shakes and other healthy meal diets?

    • It can be mixed with anything. Not sur what your question is in the first place, but there are a ton of super foods and incredible potent results for people who use this regularly.

Carl I have an employee that so needs this. He is 5’4″ and well over 400lbs, he refuses to be weighed when going to the doctor. He is very stubborn about weight lose saying he promises that he will do something in the next 3-5 years or so. He told me today the only way he would start today is if the President told him too. He was half joking but I am really at a lose to how to get his why to move him forward. Any ideas? BTW 45 pounds lost through Beachbody and proud to be an independent coach for BB!

    • You can’t make someone save their own life in this business. Maybe he likes his life? Not everyone needs to walk this way. But I would suggest you show him the videos of Richard Neal an how he won $100k. A guy who loses 250#’s would have a transformational story that could inspire a lot of people.

  8. Mike says:

    Carl,

Regular shakeology made me ill when I tried it for 7 days about a month ago. Have you had anyone who has had the same issue that switched to vegan shakeology and it did not cause as much GI distress?

    • Sorry to hear that. often that can be a s sign that you need the shake to clear out years of trouble before it will settle down. I suggest staring with half a serving in that case. (But you should probably talk to a doctor first). it is quite possible the vegan formula will be more gentle for you (I have heard of some people saying they experience no bloating with this formula vs. the whey.) But be careful, and do what is best for YOU!

We are moving in the right direction, Carl. Tropical Strawberry Shakeology (vegan) gives us another delicious option! And the Superfood Formula Chocolate Shakeology (non-vegan) tastes even better than the original version. Can’t wait to try the new Chocolate Vegan. By the way, awesome blog!

  10. Carrie says:

I am looking everywhere to find the vitamin content of the Vegan Chocolate with no luck. I am really needing to know how much Vitamin A it contains. Can you offer me any assistance?

    • Because it is from whole food sources (like an apple) and no isolated vitamins are added to the formula, it’s like asking how much Vitamin C is in an orange… every orange is different. Does that make sense? Bottom line is, because there are no synthetics or isolates, this won’t bomb the body with vitamins in minerals, but those that it gets are processed efficiently with all the enzymes, whole food, etc in the formula.

  11. Carl Daikeler says:

Thanks JC. How are sales going with the chocolate Vegan Shakeology? Are you finding people stick with it?

  12. Carrie A says:

    Thanks Carl! Now I understand!

    Hi,
I am looking at the ingredient list and at the bottom where it says other ingredients, twice it mentions that it contains natural flavors. I know natural flavors is usually a way to secretly slide in MSG into products. Im looking into ordering shakeology but my husband is supposed to stay away from MSG due to his medical issue. Do you have any info on that?
    Thanks!

  14. Jenny Fedei says:

Hi Carl! I was really stoked to taste the new Shakeology flavor upgrade… AMAZING taste! I’m a happy camper now! I just called Coach Relations and asked for my next shipment to be switched to the 24 packets of Vegan – Tropical & Chocolate Mix. I’ve been wanting to try it and I’ve heard rave reviews about it.

I do realize that the nutritional breakdown isn’t the same as with the Superfood’s formula because as you stated it’s from a “whole food source”. That being stated, one of the reasons I started taking the Superfoods formula is because I don’t necessarily have to take any other supplementation concurrent with this formula. This has been a great selling point for my customers because they don’t need to load up their shopping carts with extra vitamins, as everything is provided for them in one shake. My question then, does the same hold true for the Vegan formula? Or do they need to purchase additional vitamins and minerals such as the “Core Nutrition Pack” offered by Beachbody?

For that matter, if I were to take any of the additional supplements that Beachbody offers along side of my Shakeology (Superfoods or Vegan), would I be putting my body into vitamin overload? I like the ‘idea’ of the Vegan formula, but I don’t want to sacrifice all the vitamins and minerals I’ve been getting with the Superfoods formula. If you could shed some light on that I would appreciate it.

    Thanks Carl!
    Jenny Fedei

    • Carl Daikeler says:

Hi Jenny – Glad we could make you happy! You definitely don’t need to take additional supplements with the Vegan or Superfood formula. The Vegan formulas are actually the “Ultimate” in quality because the proteins are more easily assimilated than the Whey proteins. That being said, some people prefer the Whey formulation for the extra protein punch it delivers. It’s really up to you!

  15. Brooke says:

Is there a thought of ever using sprouted hemp protein? I have customers asking….it would be competetive because there isn’t a shake out there with this type of protein!

    • Carl Daikeler says:

Hey Brooke – Thanks for the feedback. We’ve got the world’s foremost experts putting countless hours and research into sourcing the ingredients that go into Shakeology. That said, I would imagine they’ve considered hemp protein and probably haven’t ruled it out in future blends. What we have out there right now is the highest quality ingredients with the best possible taste we could come up with and as we continue to evolve anything is fair game as long as it doesn’t compromise the health and integrity of the product.
