Walking the walk means practicing what you preach. This describes Carl Daikeler's business mantra at Los Angeles–based Product Partners, LLC, where he serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
In 1998, Carl presented then-colleague (now partner) Jon Congdon with the idea of creating a 90-day in-home boot camp called Power 90®. They targeted friend and seasoned fitness trainer Tony Horton to help design the program. To ensure that Power 90 delivered on its fitness promise, Carl and Jon joined the test group and made adjustments along the way so "real people" like them would stick with the program to achieve optimum results. Concurrently, Carl and team created diet guidelines that would simplify the issue of weight loss and food choices—the popular Step-by-Step Nutrition Guide and Michi's Ladder. Carl's Power 90 results validate both the program and the company's mission to deliver effective fitness solutions.
Carl is a tenured professional with more than 19 years of product marketing experience. At age 24, he teamed up with Quantum Marketing to build the first national infomercial network to be viewed by half the television households throughout the United States. He then moved to London to build the first Pan-European infomercial network, exporting U.S. successes internationally.
Motivated by this success, Carl then started TelAmerica Media in Philadelphia and created noteworthy products Instant Flower Garden, 8 Minute Abs™, and Grandmother's Kitchen Wisdom™. To maximize the exposure of those products, he launched the first in-wired network for the distribution of short-form spots (60-second commercials) into unsold local cable and broadcast media, all on a revenue-sharing basis with the major multiple-system operators. After selling his interest in TelAmerica to management in the mid-1990s, Carl joined leading beauty and fitness product marketing company Guthy-Renker, where he launched a national computer dating service, and with Jon Congdon’s help, he built another revenue-sharing network of more than 100 radio and television stations to promote the concept. That unit was later sold to a unit of Cendant.
Carl takes great personal pride in having created Beachbody, a company filled with individuals who are passionate about the delivery of quality products and services to consumers. Carl and team continually strive to help consumers find healthy and achievable fitness and weight loss solutions.
In 2005, Carl was a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year awards along with Jon Congdon. Nominees are honored for their vision, leadership, and ability to grow successful businesses that help sustain our economy. Carl is a native of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications from Ithaca College in New York. He believes his greatest contributions are still ahead of him. He is married with two children.
